Changing times (14 x 21 cm)

"I punched this piece right after we moved from London to Kent coast. Our possessions were all in storage and we moved to an Airbnb right on the seafront whilst we waited for the new house to go through. I was super excited about life but also very anxious with this huge life change.
 
We left behind our first house and the kids, at the time 7 and 5 left their first home behind. We left all our good friends behind that were our support through the challenging first years of having kids and the tumultuous 2020. Our children left behind their first best friends. It was a huge life change. 
 
I needed to find a lot of strength in me to help us through this big transition and I needed to keep my anxiety at bay. As human beings, we all pick up on each others' emotions, there is no hiding. So whilst the children were at school and my husband at work, I worked on this piece. I channeled my anxiety as well as my excitement and purposefully made it super colourful so whilst I punched it, I would feel uplifted and excited about our new life by the sea."
